Civil & Commercial Mediation Training

Our Civil and Commercial Mediation Training Programme is designed for both experienced professionals and those entering the field for the first time. You do not need a legal background or prior mediation experience to train with us.
The Academy of Mediators was created by practising mediators who understand both the realities of managing conflict within organisations and the challenges of stepping into a new profession. The programme is practical and immersive, focused on building real capability rather than abstract theory.
Across five intensive days, you’ll learn how to:
- Facilitate difficult conversations with confidence
- Manage power imbalances constructively
- Guide parties toward realistic, workable resolutions
- Work ethically and neutrally in complex situations
Many delegates initially take the course to enhance their effectiveness within their current role. Others join with the clear intention of establishing a new career. Successful completion makes you eligible for Civil and Commercial Mediation Council (CMC) accreditation, enabling you to practise as an accredited civil and commercial mediator.
We recognise that delegates often balance training with demanding professional or personal commitments. Our focused five-day format provides a clear route to accreditation, supported by optional mentor guidance, practical resources and honest insight into building mediation work beyond the classroom.
